Hi, I’m anna.
I am a mental health professional with 18 years of experience. I love to connect with people to empower them to discover their authentic self. I am trained to treat anxiety, depression, other mood disorders & personality disorders. I also love working with parents, & supporting people through various life stressors and transitions. I work with all ages 12 & up, though I consider myself a “young adult” therapist.
I started my career as a therapist working with adults & young adults ages 14-24 at the Walker Family Clinic at the Psychiatric Research Institute at UAMS. Currently I am the Upper School (9-12th grade) Counselor at Episcopal Collegiate School, where I support teens with everything from how to be their best selves, to helping with daily stressors & social dilemmas, to managing & coping with mental illnesses. I also develop & impart social emotional learning classes.
I am also a certified Highlands Ability Battery consultant, helping individuals young & old discover their natural abilities, create their personal vision & plan for their future careers. Whether you are wondering what to major in or are confronting the possibility of changing careers, the Highlands Battery is a valuable resource that can provide direction.
Personally, I am an animal lover, especially dogs & cats (hello, fellow childless cat ladies & dog moms!). In my spare time I enjoy spending time at home with my husband and dogs & cat, reading, watching movies, & connecting with my friends.
The decision to begin therapy isn’t an easy one, in fact it can be intimidating. I work to make the process approachable and affordable. Reach out & let’s see how I can help.
What people (mostly teens) have said about working with me:
“You are a tireless advocate and listening ear. I’m grateful for all you do for our community ”
“You helped me work through some difficult issues with my son. Your consult and empathy went a long way to helping me feel like I was a good parent....thank you for letting me vent, ask tough questions and be silly...”
“I always feel safe when I come to you! Thanks for being so supportive!”
“Thank you for always being there when I needed someone to talk to or needed a break from things. You’ve always given me a space to relax and be at peace with myself.”
“Your unwavering belief in my abilities has helped me grow into the person I am today.”
“I can’t face everything alone. You taught me that. For the first time I felt like I could trust someone to help me.””
